The War On Unemployment, Women Are Losing The Battle
As we all continue to wonder just when the economy will bounce back, the grueling war on unemployment drags on and apparently as women we’re losing this battle. I recently watched a a story covered by Diane Sawyer for ABC News where Sharyn Alfonsi reports on how men are getting more jobs than women, and the numbers were overwhelmingly one sided. Take a look at the video below.
Although I do agree that men should be the head of the household and take care of their families, the reality of the world we live in is that every family doesn’t reflect the conventional, “old school”, family unit. What the “He-Covery” theory doesn’t take into account is;
1. There are many single mothers out there who take care of the household who are losing out on jobs.
&
2. Before the recession, most families were two-income households.
Either way they can’t keep pumping money into industrial jobs and leaving out jobs like teaching, health care, etc… it’s going to be another problem long term socially and eventually ecomically.
What Are YOUR Thoughts On The “He-Covery?”
