From The Airport To The Runway, Travel Pieces For The Fashionista On The Go!

by Maggie Thistleton

No more are the days where you can head to the airport looking like a slob—airport fashion is a must! The great thing about this style is that it’s so easy to perfect, and it focuses on being comfy. I’ve picked out some of my favorite airport-chic styles and broke them down. The only difference is my versions cost less than a plane ticket! You may even have most of these pieces in your closet already. Which one is your favorite?

Kylie Minogue keeps it girly with a pretty lace dress (very popular this summer, and they look great on everyone!) and gold platform wedges. Stash all your goods in a satchel bag, and mask any possible red-eye induced under-eye bags with some oversized shades. Embrace your inner flower-child with this look, for under $150, and continue to mix and match all the pieces to your hearts content.

For a slightly more chic but casual look, I’m loving Kim Kardashian’s style here. She’s keeping it comfy with some distressed jeans, a striped shirt and black blazer (a must-have for summer!). Pair these with your favorite sandals, dark aviators, and a large black tote for an airport-chic style for under $100.

Salma Hayek always looks classy, and her airport style is no exception. If you followed Kim’s style, bring back the blazer, pair it with a beige cami, and dress it up with a string of pearls. Be bold and don a pair of wide-leg trousers, and let a little peep of red pop out with some comfy espadrilles. Complete the look with a neutral handbag. This is one of my favorite looks, and you can get it all for around $130.

Liz Hurley looks perfectly comfy in her cropped cargos, basic tee, and a faux fur vest. Accessorize with a carry-all weekender bag and some oversized sunglasses, and this look is yours! You can get the look for around $120.

So now that you have four ideas for airport style, ones that can be easily mixed, matched, and created with stuff you may already have, there’s no excuse to travel without style! Just remember to keep it comfy, wear shoes that are easy to slip on and off, and bring along your favorite oversized bag, and you’ll be turning heads in the terminals.
