The Lucky One Movie Review- By Da Vinci

I can’t say that having such eye candy as Zac Efron didn’t make me want to see this movie even more BUT I’m glad that he wasn’t the only good thing about this movie. The Lucky One takes you on the journey of Logan Thibault ,played by Zac Efron, is a U.S. Marine, serving his third tour of duty. He survives a night raid where his and another platoon are ambushed, that results in fatalities. The next morning, he sees something glimmering in the sun and walks over to pick it up, it is a picture of a woman, with the message “keep safe x” written on the back. At that same moment, a mortar attack destroys where he had been sitting before he saw the picture, killing those around him… at that moment he decides he MUST meet and thank the woman who saved his life.

I was very happy to see Zac Efron play a role that wasn’t young, comedic, etc… is The Lucky One you’re able to see him as the man he has become and eventual love interest of Beth, played by Taylor Schilling, the woman in the picture. We also get to see acting from one of my favorite actresses Blythe Danner who plays Beth’s mom.

Although The Lucky One is a romantic story, I think it has enough of a well written plot to keep everyone entertained. It’s great for a night out with the girls or date night, without making you boyfriend or hubby mad ;).
