Pass Me The Bottle – The health Benefits of Wine, In Moderation Of Course!

You can’t go wrong with a glass or two of wine after a hard day at the office. As soon as the cool glass touches your lips, the feeling of relief enters your body and it seems to allow you to relax and wind down from the stressful day that you’ve had at work.

The multiple health benefits of wine
The late Benjamin Franklin once said, “In wine there is wisdom”, and believe it or not, in a way he was right. Many scientists have discovered that drinking wine – obviously in moderation and as part of a healthy balanced diet – results in numerous health benefits. Due to its high natural grape content, wine has been proven in helping to reduce the risk of several potentially life-threatening illnesses, such as heart disease and certain cancers.

Drinking wine in moderation has also been shown to slow down the process of degenerative disorders such as Parkinson’s disease and, more commonly, Alzheimer’s.

As well as helping to prevent major illnesses in the long-term, drinking wine in moderation also has several short-term benefits. Drinking alcohol frequently but not excessively has been shown to raise the good cholesterol in your body, which can help to thin your blood and reduce the chances of heart attacks and strokes.
The antioxidants in the wine from all the juicy grapes that are used in the process of making it can help to prevent cellular damage in your body, which can make you feel better, physically as well as mentally!

In moderation

However, you need to make sure that you don’t overdo the drinking and stick to the recommended limit! By exceeding the recommended daily intake of alcohol or having a ‘binge’ drinking session, you can drastically increase your risk of contracting certain diseases.
The recommended amount for women is one small glass of wine a day, whereas men are allowed to drink two glasses. This is the limit which is considered safe and will not pose as a health threat to your body. Any more than this ‘safe’ allowance and the alcohol may have negative effects to the body, so it is certainly wise to stick within the limit.
The only other thing you need to worry about now is which wine you are going to drink! Wine comes in a variety of categories: red, white, rose, and sparkling, all of which range in tastes, from very fruity and sweet, to bone dry.
