Despicable Me 2 Movie Review by Da Vinci

Like many of you I thoroughly enjoyed the first Despicable Me and was ecstatic to find out about the 2nd one coming out. I love going to kid’s events because it’s a chance for me to let down my hair and be a “big kid”, lol… at the Atlanta screening of Despicable Me 2, presented by V103 radio station, I indulged in snacks, face painting and had fun with the OMG photo booth :). The kids had a blast!

Despicable Me 2 Review

I try to go into sequels with an open mind because usually they’re not as good as the first, Despicable Me 2 was a good movie for the whole family. I would say that a lot of the humor was subtle enough for children to laugh but with double entendres injected for adults to enjoy. With characters voiced by Steve Carell, Kristen Wiig, Benjamin Bratt, Miranda Cosgrove, Russell Brand, Steve Coogan, Ken Jeong and more… this star studded cast brings their characters to life in a unique way.

If you watched the first Despicable Me, you saw former villain Gru change his ways for 3 little girls who he adopts… this new film is about Gru journey of love. We continue to be entertained by our beloved minions and the awkward antics of Gru. I saw the film in 3d, while I think there were some places that the glasses were needed, I wish they would have stepped it up a bit on the 3d factor. The movies music was arranged by musical genius Pharell Williams and Heitor Pereira… they did an awesome job. All in all I enjoyed the movie and all the kids in the theater had a blast.
