Wow, where can I start with this movie. Usually we’re all skeptical about sequels to our favorite classic movies… and YES, The Best Man was an iconic classic movie, so I wasn’t sure what to expect despite my excitement. After waiting almost 15 years, I wasn’t sure what direction they could go with our beloved characters to tell a story that we hadn’t already heard. When you think of the title, it would be easy to assume this will be another cliche holiday film… however, The Best Man Holiday was more than that!
While the movie does give us a fill of our favorite eye candy, lol… The Best Man Holiday covers a wide gamut of emotions and topics, I experienced laughter, joy, pain, tears and hope all in one go. We’re able to take a journey as we learn what Lance, Mia, Jordan, Harper, Robin, Quentin, Shelby, Merch and Candace have all been up to since wedding drama and “Unfinished Business”. In some ways, The Best Man Holiday takes you deeper than the first movie and is full of new lessons to be learned. And, while some things never change… sometimes change is what we need to get better…
The Best Man Holiday delves into topics that all of us can relate to; friendship, love, loss, etc… while still standing on the same principals of the original movie God, Family and Love… and we can add some football in there 😉
Overall, I’d have to say not only is this the perfect movie for the holidays, but it’ still something you can watch ANY time of the year and enjoy multiple times like the first film. Be sure to go with your sweetie, friends, or family and a word of advice… BRING a Kleenex!
