Ride Along Movie Review #RideAlong

So I have to admit that while I was excited to see Ride Along, I was also a tad skeptical about going to see the movie. And here’s why, even though I love Ice Cube ad Kevin Hart… I was worried that the comedic antics in this film may run dry. For anyone who has seen Kevin Hart do standup, etc… he tends to have the ability to get caught up in one joke too long at times, but other than that I usually enjoy his humor.

After seeing the movie I was pleased to say it was definitely the right balance of laughs and storyline, which made me quite happy to write this Ride Along Movie Review. Ride Along, from Will Packer… the director and the producer of the blockbuster comedy Think Like a Man, is about a fast-talking guy who joins his girlfriend’s brother—a hot-tempered cop—to patrol the streets of Atlanta. I love seeing movies that highlight my city “Atlanta”, although I’m from England, I always refer to myself as an English Peach. But I digress, overall the film moves at a good pace, has a decent storyline and accomplishes it’s goal of making you laugh and fall in love with the characters. Tika Sumpter, who’s career I’ve followed from One Life To Live, looked fabulous in the movie as always… I’m sure the men will love that bit of eye candy, lol.

Even though there were some editing issues that need to be resolved in the film, which might be because I saw a screening cut, the film was good overall. I’m looking forward to seeing Kevin Hart’s new film too… he’s on a roll right now!
