10 Mistakes That Could Cost You a New Job
When you’re looking for a new job, you’re going to apply to a lot of places. Because you’re constantly filling out application, you might find you spend less and less time perfecting the applications you turn in. While you might be turning in a lot of applications, employers are only seeing yours. Therefore, it’s important you take enough time for every application you submit. Never skip corners to save time. Even if you have a great resume, you still need to follow employer instructions in applications. Always fill them out — never leaving a blank space unless indicated to. Turn in your application, cover letter and resume on time too. Scan over your application and make sure there aren’t any spelling or grammatical errors. If you have a few gaps in employment, have an explanation for those so that the employer sees that you’re thorough. By taking a little extra time on each application you can increase the chances you might get called for an interview.
