GODZILLA: movie review

By now, I’m sure you’ve all heard or seen some version of GODZILLA. So when I heard about the latest GODZILLA, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I appreciate how far we’ve come with our technological advancements in entertainment, but often times when remakes of the classics are made they tend to lose that old time charm that we fell in love with, for the new GODZILLA this was not the case. This film is a big deal in the sense that it’s Warner Bros. Pictures’ first new Godzilla property since 1959’s Gigantis, the Fire Monster, also known as GODZILLA Raids Again.

With a respectable cast, starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ken Watanabe, Elizabeth Olsen and more. This GODZILLA reboot is an epic rebirth of the “monster” of all monsters. We’re taken on a story that makes you question our place in the food chain and the order of our existence. In a time when science and technology might fail us, what will save us? Could it be GODZILLA? 😉

I appreciated the storyline and the fact that although this was an updated rendition the old school corniness was still there. While the fight scenes were quite epic, there was still a bit of theatrics that carried it along. Whether it was from a sense of nostalgia or just from the relationship you built with GODZILLA, by the end of the movie the whole theater was rooting for him to win. While I don’t think everyone will be able to appreciate this movie, I definitely recommend giving it a go. It would make for a great date night or just something to see with the family or friends. It was good enough for me to want to see a sequel, that says a lot.
