Da Vinci Attends Macy’s Fashion Show: Hosted by Super Model Emme #MacysEvents
As women it’s important to remember that we all have different body shapes, sizes and fashion styles. Whether you’re more slender of a full figured lady, it’s important that we all take the time to embrace our own beauty and not ridicule each other in the process. When I received the invitation to attend the Macy’s Womens’ event from SheSpeaks.com, I was ecstatic because I knew it was being hosted by Emme; the world’s FIRST “plus sized or full figured” Super Model! To me, Emme represents a much needed and refreshing change that is happening in the fashion industry… the quest for diversity and reality. Upon meeting her I was NOT disappointed, she is one of the realest, kindest and passionate people I’ve ever met and her story is very inspirational.
As a guest of SheSpeaks, I was able to get backstage access and check out the ins and outs of the show. Another awesome thing is one of my fellow Atlanta bloggers, Joyce Brewer from MommyTalkShow.com, was also taking the stage as a SheSpeaks blogger representative. It was hilarious because Joyce regaled me with tales of how she’s usually in yoga pants but knew this would be a treat for her hubby and her loving song. It was lovely to see Joyce’s transformation from lovely to mommy fabulous!
As A VIP guest I was treated to fabulous food and drinks, always a plus for a foodie like myself LOL.
Overall the show was lovely, I got quite a few fashion idea for this fall too. Big trends to look out for, soft pants, animal prints, metallic worn in casual wear, jewel tones and of course the staples like sassy boots.
