7 Ways to Start your Day off Right
Most people are not their best first thing in the morning. After a long (or short) night’s sleep, grogginess and lethargy are common upon waking. Anxiety and stress do not help anyone through a morning, where health and relaxation, alternatively, can set the precedent for a great day. Here are seven ways to increase your chances of having a productive day by starting off your morning right.
1. Set your alarm 15 minutes prior to necessary
This automatically lets you begin the morning at a relaxed pace. You do not need to jump up and immediately start getting ready. You can lie in bed and stretch and take your time to wake up. Catching up with the latest news headlines or mentally going over your to-do list for the day will get you excited and ready to go. These may be the only few minutes of the day that belong strictly to you.
2. Eat a healthy breakfast
Give your body the nutrition it craves in the morning. A great breakfast idea that packs in a lot of nutrition in a short amount of time is a smoothie. Many people prefer their healthy breakfasts to taste like dessert, and one great option is an Apple Pie Smoothie. To make this, blend 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt, one ounce of Monin Granny Smith Apple Fruit Puree, 1/4 cup uncooked quick cooking oats, cinnamon to taste and 4-5 ice cubes. This creamy smoothie packs in protein and carbohydrates to start the day off right.
3. Read a motivational quote
This is a great way to get yourself moving in the right direction. Use motivational mantras to provide a burst of meditation. This will help you to focus and avoid negativity.
4. Brush your tongue for a minute
Rid yourself of the germs that have gathered in your mouth overnight by beginning your day feeling fresh. With over 300 types of bacteria forming in our mouths overnight, it is a good idea to take some time to get clean.
5. Exercise
People who spend 30 minutes in the morning getting their heart rate up will produce endorphins to last all day. Get exercise out of the way in the morning so you do not spend your day thinking of excuses to skip.
6. Drink a large cup of water
You are dehydrated after being in a slumber for eight hours. Give your body a kick start by drinking at least 8 ounces of water.
7. Kiss everyone in your house
Remember to remind the ones you love that you care and show some affection in the morning.
Setting a positive precedent for the day will make the rest of the day go well. Start your day off on the right foot to live a happy and healthy life. Using these guidelines will help heal your body and soul so you feel your best.
