As  an entrepreneur, we’re used to working long hours in our office space. When you have an office in your home it’s important to make sure your space is organized and functional because it’s easy to get distracted.  When I’m in full on work mode, I like to know that anything I need to get done can be done from my office area.  That’s why my home office has a phone, fax, printer, green screen,  mic, and much more. I know many of you are either thinking about starting your own businesses or are current entrepreneurs.  I wanted to share my list of 30 things/ways I keep an organized and functional office space.

I also wanted to share with you how Staples Brand Products are allowing me to steadily build up my office’s functionality. Don’t feel overwhelmed or like you have to build your office in one go. Whether you’re working with a theme or just want to build it up as you go, there’s nothing wrong with that.  I was able to add pieces to my office over the years and my latest addition really excited me, lol… it was a Staples Brand MAILMATE shredder. Anyway, check out my list below!

My List of 30 Ways To Keep An Organized & Functional Office Space

1. Corkboard/Calendar – If you’re like me, I love to be able to visualize my goals and see what deadlines I have coming up easily. Having a cork board is great for making vision board, and a monthly cry erase calendar is great to keep you on track.

2. 3 Ring Binders

3. Comfortable Office Chair – When you’re spending hours at a time in your office, having a comfortable chair is essential.

4. A surge protector with USB charging ports – These things are awesome. Now that a lot of our tech uses USB charging options, it only makes sense that you can have surge protectors with USB ports. I was able to pick up a really nifty  Staples Brand surge protector that came with 2 USB charging ports.

5. A printer/fax/scanner combo – Any well oiled office will have a great printer, fax and scanner… as a great space saver it’s good to get a combo. I love being able to do all my printing, scanning or receive and send important faxes right from my home office.

6. Stapler

7. Hole Puncher

8. LOTS of Pens – I’m forever looking for pens, lol… I was able to get a great deal on a box of 60 Staples Brand ball point pens for just $4.99.  Definitely a steal.

9. Pencils

10. Staples Brand Ink (black and color)- As I said, having a printer/scanner is important… but that also means you need ink.  I’ve often heard people say that sometimes it’s better to buy a new printer than buying new ink.  It’s true it can become quite expensive to replace ink cartridges, but that’s why I was so excited to hear about Staples Brand Ink.  I was able to get compatible ink cartridges color and black for my Canon printer. Staples Brand Ink is made for a variety of printer brands but they’re more cost effective. Staples Brand Products are definitely below budget and above expectations.

11. Staples Brand Printing Paper – I was also able to pick up an 8 ream case of paper for just $26.99 because you can save everyday with Staples Brand Products.

12. Envelopes

13. Stamps

14. Storage containers – I was a major need of a storage container where I could put chargers, my sketch pads, and much more. I picked up a great 4 drawer Staples Brand organizer that had locking drawers.  It came with 4 wheels so it’s easy to move, if I ever need to.

15. File folders

16. Wireless mouse

17. Comfortable arm rest and mouse pad

18. A paper shredder – I’ve been wanting to buy a shredder for awhile, I know we all hate throwing away credit cards or important papers.  It never feels secure enough when I just tear it, lol.  I found an AWESOME Staples Brand MAILMATE shredder that can not only shred paper but can shred up credit cards too. It’s a pretty powerful piece of equipment. And, I have to say shredding is quite therapeutic lol.

19. Filing Cabinets

20. back up drive

21. Calculator

22. Sticky notes

23. glue and tape

24. Coffee Cup

25. many many USBs – We all know you can’t have too many usbs, lol. I feel in love with a Staples Brand usb that allowed me to store up to 128gbs.  I made sure to pick up 2 for now, but I’ll definitely be buying a few more soon.

26. daily planner

27. College ruled paper

28. highlighters

29. desk clock

30. fun inspirational knickknacks to keep you motivated – I love to keep fun things in my space that will keep life light hearted and make me smile each day.  Whether it’s pics of family, quotes or something fun, decorate your office with pieces that can help you through each day!
