You need to present yourself as not only a great candidate when it comes to your studying ability and you test grades but also as a student who is committed, hard working and a good roe model. Getting involved in things like debate societies and organizations show the law school that you are caring student who is happy to contribute to more than just their education.

Picking the Right Major

Picking the right major to study at undergraduate level can be tricky, there is no particular major that law schools look for but there are some attributes to particular subjects which can help you shine at law school. History, Politics and Journalism are some majors that can help with your studies in law school, they are subjects that require a lot of reading, analytical thinking, argument formulation and absorbing great amounts of knowledge, attributes which are akin to studying for your law degree.

Internships

If you can find yourself an internship in a law firm where you can gain experience and knowledge then you will make yourself a very attractive prospect for a law school position. Having experience in the industry not only shows the school that you have prior knowledge of the industry but it also displays that you are prepared to give up your free time for the pursuit of knowledge. This demonstrates commitment, desire and the will to learn all that you can about law and its inner workings. During your internship you should try to find someone who can mentor you, someone who can share their experience with you and someone who will be on hand to answer any questions that you have throughout your career.
