This year is the 90^th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade^®it’s amazing that this tradition has been going on so long! On Thursday, November 24^th, more than 3.5 million spectators will be lining the streets of Manhattan and more than 50 million viewers on television will celebrate the event with family and friends. The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade^®is always a sight to see with a host of giant character balloons, dazzling floats, the nation’s best marching bands and performance groups, celebrities, and the official entrance of the one-and-only Santa Claus. This year to make the celebration more special and interactive Macy’s is launching a Macy’s Time Traveler App and a set of emojis to help you celebrate one of the nations greatest traditions!

It’s super cool! The Macy’s Time Traveler app actually allows you to interact with the parade right from the comfort of your own home, or in your local Macy’s stores. You’ll be able to find and capture balloons in your local Macy’s stores through virtual reality and make a customized parade of your own! It’s definitely something fun you can do for family time or you can make it a field trip and educational experience with your children, as you learn about the history of the Macy’s Parade and take a vintage selfie.

And if you’re IN New York, you get the added bonus of being able to take a trip down memory lane and view what the parade looked like in previous decades while in Herald Square.
