Growing up banana pudding was always something I looked forward to having when I went to my God mother’s house. I remember pestering her about her recipe because it was something I could eat by the bucket lol. As I got older, my love for banana has just increased but I have to be honest the thought of having to make it from scratch isn’t always ideal. When I found out about Patti’s Banana Pudding I knew I had to give it a try. I consider my older brother a connoisseur of banana pudding so I made sure we both did the taste test at the same time.
Patti’s Banana Pudding
When I first looked at Patti’s Banana Pudding I noticed that I couldn’t see any bananas in it. I was honestly glad that they didn’t try to put them in, Patti knows what she’s doing. Patti LaBelle’s delicious pudding dessert is topped with 12 vanilla wafers and vanilla wafer crumbs. Below that you dig into rich banana pudding and a creamy banana pudding mousse, both equally delicious. If you’re a fan of the fresh banana taste and texture, the package even recommends that you slice a few bananas on top for an extra special touch. Honestly, after my brother and I both tasted it we both had to tip our hats off to Aunty Patti! Her version of banana pudding is different from my God mother’s but still gets VERY close to that homemade flavor. It’s not surprising though because like all of Patti’s desserts at Walmart, the banana pudding started with a family recipe and is made with quality ingredients for an authentic, home-style taste. It’s really unlike anything you’ll find in other stores or restaurants.
After tasting how good it was, I told my brother I couldn’t share anymore with him lol. Patti’s Banana Pudding ended up being the perfect dessert to eat for my sappy movie Saturdays. Whether you’re throwing a family dinner, dinner party, or girl’s night Patti’s Banana Pudding makes for a perfect dessert.
