So, here’s what you can do. Yes, there is a magic potion that you can carry in your pouch or purse and it will help you alleviate the sickness. Actually, the magic potion is nothing but the essential oils.

Essential oils are the natural extracts of leaves and flowers that have multiple uses for them. And they are easily available in the market and also easy enough to be carried around.

Most people ask if it is ok to carry the essential oils in the planes and the answer is yes. Indeed, you can carry the oils in a limited quantity inside the aeroplanes and through customs too. There is no restriction on the essential oils as most of them have medicinal properties in them and are used for health reasons.

While travelling via planes, you can carry up to 90ml of essential oils in your hand luggage and all that extra oils can be carefully packed in plastic bags and placed in your luggage to be checked in by the airline staff. One important point to keep in mind is to use diluted oils while on the plane as they may cause irritation or inconvenience to the fellow passengers.

Essential oils to carry while traveling

  • Peppermint or spearmint oil

Travelling can be exhausting and tiresome, either you are on a work related travel or for the holidays. The change in weather, the food, the time zones and such can have an adverse effect on your stomach. And while travelling, it is quite difficult to pay attention to the overall health and well-being at all times. With frequent travelling, you end up with upset stomach. Thus, it is best you include peppermint or spearmint oil as a part of your ‘precautionary’ kit as it will help your stomach settle down or stay calm irrespective of the reason for its upset.

  • Citrus oil

While on travel, we meet a lot of new and unknown people and we do not know what germs and bacteria they might be carrying with them. These germs and bacteria generally are the hidden reason behind sudden flu, cold and cough when we are in a new place. Citrus oil like the lemon oil, orange oil or grapefruit oil will help in fighting the germs.

  • Lavender oil

One of the must have oils if you are going to some place that is sunny or if you are planning on spending a lot of time outdoors, lavender oil is well known for its soothing and calming properties. Lavender also improves the sleep quality as well as helps calm over-excited children.

  • CBD Oil

Known as the ‘jack of all trades’, CBD vape oil is something you cannot miss in your essential oils kit even if you do forget other oils. This oil helps in a lot of things, skin, stomach, relaxation, energy, stress relief and many more. Many believe taking along the CBD oil is enough instead of carrying the entire kit, but again, that is a matter of personal choice.

  • Eucalyptus oil

Might sound strange, but Eucalyptus oil is really helpful with the changing weather conditions and the effects that might have on the body. You might be heading to the mountains and since you are not used to that, you might end up with a nose block. Eucalyptus oil will help relieve all respiratory related issues.

  • Thieves

The name may seem strange but this is protective blend that is made with the blend of essential oils of Lemon, Clove, Cinnamon Bark, Eucalyptus Radiata, and Rosemary, that will help you breathe in the protective scent. It can be used as a sanitizer that can be used after using the restroom anywhere, or if people around you are coughing or sneezing, just rub a few drops of the oil on your hands and cup the hands around your nose and inhale.

  • Tea tree oil

Tea tree oil is well known for its soothing properties against insect bites, sun burns, sores, and is also an excellent protection against mosquitoes. So, if you are planning to stay outdoors or are on a camping trip, tea tree oil is a must have.

It is important to keep in mind that while carrying essential oils, you carry some basic carrier oils like coconut oil, sweet almond oil, and such, empty spray bottles, pre-made rollers, and such to make it easy to use the essential oils while travelling.
