Book Club Movie Review
It’s always a pleasant surprise when a movie can exceed your expectations. From the moment I saw trailers for Book Club I knew I HAD TO SEE IT. Not only is the cast legendary, they’re reading one of my favorite book/movie series’ in the movie “Fifty Shades of Grey”. Book Club is full of laughs, life lessons and friendship goals. We go on a journey of growth and self discovery with four lifelong friends as their lives are turned upside down when they choose the infamous Fifty Shades of Grey for their Book Club. Each woman is at a different stage in her life so there’s a lot that can be learned. Diane (Diane Keaton) is recently widowed after 40 years of marriage. Vivian (Jane Fonda) enjoys her men with no strings attached. Sharon (Candice Bergen) is still working through a decades-old divorce. Carol’s (Mary Steenburgen) marriage is in a slump after 35 years.

I think what makes Book Club such a great movie is each character is relatable in some way. I found a bit of myself in Diane and Vivian. All of these ladies inspire, they’re a reminder that life ain’t over till it’s over. Book Club is a great movie for a girl’s night, but I think men as well as women will enjoy it. When I came out of this movie, I left with a smile on my face. And I honestly can’t wait to watch it again. Diane Keaton, Jane Fonda, Candice Bergen, and Mary Steenburgen give you that special kind of joy that only they can. And these ladies don’t disappoint.
