5 Tips for Boosting Your Energy While on Vacation in Fort Lauderdale
Fort Lauderdale is a great place for a vacation because there are so many fun things for the whole family to do! From riverboat rides to dinner shows, water sports, and time spent on the beach, there’s plenty to keep you busy in the Venice of America.
Having so much to do isn’t necessarily a good thing. It is easy to feel overwhelmed and tired long before it’s time to go to bed, and spending your vacation tired and cranky is no way to spend a vacation at all!
Make sure you enjoy every minute of your vacation by boosting your energy so you have time to do all the things you want to do while you’re away from home.
Plan Time Away from the Sun
One of the best things to do in Fort Lauderdale is soak up the sun. There are multiple beaches, water sports, and outdoor activities that will have you enjoying the sunny, warm weather that’s the norm in Florida. Unfortunately, that means you could end up treating sunburn.

Although it’s good to treat yourself, many of our favorite vacation foods drain us of energy. Foods to avoid overeating include:
- High-carb foods, like white bread and pasta
- Foods high in sugar, like candy bars and ice cream
- Fried and fast foods, like burgers and fries
- Many drinks, such as alcohol and coffee
That doesn’t mean you can’t have some of these foods while you’re on vacation! It just means making time to eat well too, which means finding ways to eat plenty of vegetables and fruits in between your favorite treats.
Don’t Over-Plan
Having too much to do is a sure-fire way to feel tired while you’re at home and at work. It’s a sure-fire way to feel tired when you’re on vacation too.
It may be tempting to pack as much as you possibly can into your daily schedule, but it’s actually better not to over-plan your vacation.
Instead, focus on a few things you know you want to do and plan them into your schedule. Then, leave the rest up to you when you get there. That enables you to discover fun things you otherwise wouldn’t have had time for, and it provides you with plenty of time to rest and relax, which is important if you want to return home feeling rejuvenated.
