Top Celebrity Style Role Models for the Ageing Man

Getting older can be a troubling time for many of us. We see our hair starting to thin or lose its colour, we do not look as great as we perhaps used to, and therefore we start taking less care of our overall appearance.

If that is you, then it is time to cast off the shackles of your self imposed style exile, wake up and start caring once again about how you look.

Just because you are male and have reached a certain age, there is no need for you to lose your sense of self-worth and start dressing badly.

We looked at some prominent male celebrities who prove that you do not need to start looking bad just because you are starting to age.

George Clooney

Admittedly, there aren’t many of us that are blessed with such dashing good looks as we head north of 50, however by taking a leaf out of the Clooney style bible you will take off all of your rough edges and hide any undesirable features you may be sporting.

How does George do it?

Think about how often you see him dressed in a manner other than smart. It just doesn’t happen, so take this on board when considering your style choices.

Either always go for a dark suit, with a sober open collared shirt, or lose the jacket for a more casual look. It is also acceptable to go for lighter trousers if you feel comfortable and have a well-proportioned figure.

Simon Cowell

Now we are not in a million years suggesting that you wear your trousers pulled up almost to your chest, but by looking at Cowell you can see how to easily build a simple yet great look.

The high trousers are a giveaway that you are ageing, so forget them and continue wearing them naturally. However, in casual situations a well fitted t-shirt, especially if you have looked after your figure over the years, can take years off of your true age.

Go for jeans and casual loafer style shoes rather than formal footwear, and you will continue to look great at all times.

Gary Barlow

People around the world have already replicated his haircut, so it is surely only a matter of time before people start aping his dress, too.

Continue with the jeans and casual loafers as described above, only this time add a stylish light coloured button down shirt or t-shirt, and pair with a darker blazer for a distinguished yet youthful sense of style.

Follow our tips and ensure your style points to a man confident in his own skin.
