Films to Look Forward to in 2013

A Good Day to Die Hard
An action-adventure tale of a father-son team, John McClane discovers that his son Jack is serving as a CIA operative in Russia to prevent a covert operation involving nuclear weapons, with war looming just over the horizon. Starring Bruce Willis and Jai Courtney.

Oz: The Great and Powerful
Filling in some of the the backstory to the wizard of Oz, the circus magician Oscar Diggs finds himself in the Land of Oz and at the mercy of three witches, who refuse to believe he has any magical talents at all. Eventually, Oscar makes himself into the ruler of the Emerald City through the use of his talents in illusion and trickery.

The Devil in the White City
This film, based on the historical novel by Erik Larson, tells the tale of two men who left their mark on the city of Chicago during the 1893 World’s Fair. One of them, the architect Daniel Burnham, designed much of the city for its international debut during the fair. The other, Dr. H. H. Holmes became one of America’s most notorious serial killers, who used the enthusiasm for the World’s Fair to ensnare his victims. Starring Leonardo DiCaprio as Dr. Holmes.
Thunder Run
A new war movie about the siege of Baghdad, this film follows the three days of pure carnage that brought the city to its knees in 2003. It also presents the harsh realities of modern warfare.
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire
This second installment in The Hunger Games trilogy continues with the tale of Katniss Everdeen, who has just returned home after winning the Hunger Games and now must contend with a suspicious government that is bent on corralling her and her co-victor Peeta Mellark. In Catching Fire, she prepares to face the arena again in the infamous Quarter Quell.

Captain Phillips
This is the true story of Captain Richard Phillips, who in 2009 commanded the Maersk Alabama, a US-flagged vessel that was hijacked by pirates off the coast of Somalia. The intrepid captain was eventually rescued from a pirate skiff that was found floating off the coast of the Horn of Africa.
