Getting tired of the same old same old when it comes to your child’s playroom? Looking for some fresh, new, fun ideas? Then you have come to the right place. Moms and Dads all over the world have experimented and found new, fun and interesting ways to keep their children entertained while staying inside just one room and now you get to read some of those ideas for yourself:

  • DIY Chalk/Magnet Wall

Instead of finding a medium sized base of wood to make an average sized chalkboard; why not make a magnetic/chalkboard wall? Use magnetic paint and chalkboard paint to transform one entire wall into a fun and innovative place for your children to hang up drawings, play chalk games, draw, and use their imaginations. Here is a place where you can see some examples of magnetic/chalkboard walls.

  • Short Rock Wall

Instead of saving all the climbing type toys for the outside, why not try building a rock wall that can actually go inside the playroom? You can make it as short or tall as you like and depending on the climbing abilities and ages of your children and what you feel comfortable with.

  • Under The Stairs Playhouse

Trying to decide what to do with the space under the stairs? Instead of shoving boxes and other pieces of storage under the stairs, why not create a playhouse for your kids? Instead of building a fort or a tree house that they can only play in during nice weather, build a playhouse underneath the stairs that can be played in any time of the year.

  • Lego Wall

Getting tired of stepping on your kid’s Legos and stubbing your toes? Why not transfer all those toys from the floor to the wall! Simply attach the green Lego base pieces all over one wall in the playroom and then attach all the loose Lego pieces to the wall.

  • Playroom Fort/Slide

If you have a big enough playroom you might consider building an actual fort and or slide that will fit inside the playroom. This ensures fun playtime for hours and hours even when it is raining outside.

  • Turning the Bedroom into the Playroom

If your house is too small to actually have a playroom, you can turn your child’s bedroom into the playroom by transforming his or her bed into something fun. You can create a playhouse out of a bunk bed. You can transform the bottom space of the bunk bed into a fort. You can add a short slide and even make getting out of bed a fun experience.

  • Work with a Theme

Try working around a theme for the playroom. Whether your kids like fairies, horses, or jungle safaris you can make each theme work to your advantage and use it in the decorating and building processes. If you are working with a jungle theme you can create an inside tree house. If you are working with a fairy theme you can make a mushroom or tree stump fort. Be crafty and come up with your own theme ideas.
