Dancing With The Stars Season 17 Premiere! Foxtrots, Cha Cha, and Bruno Wants “Twerking” LOL #DWTS

Whoo hooo Season 17 of Dancing With The Starts kicks off with a BANG! They had an awesome intro and introduced a new pit for our dancers to enjoy the show. I was super excited to get things going… although I must say I HOPE Bruno Tonioli will retire the use of the word “Twerking” after tonight.

Brant Daughtery & Peta Murgatroyd were up first and they hit the dance floor to and ChaCha to Blurred Lines, lol… he’s hot and single soooo I’m sure there will be many ladies handing him votes, Len was in a good mood tonight giving them an 8 Carrie-ann and Bruno each gave a 7 for a starting score of 22/30

Leah Remini & Toni Dovoloni are up next with a Foxtrot, first I have to say she looked great… I would say she did a great job and has a lot of potential to grow. Their starting score was 21/30

Corbin Bleu and Karina Smirnoff start their season off with a contemporary dance, it was both of their 1st times doing it so it was interesting to watch. Karina is an excellent and edgy coach I think the pairing with Corbin was great… the lifts were lovely and both came out setting a tone for week 1 for sure. 24/30

Jack Osbourne and Cheryl Burke and start out with a Foxtrot, I have to say wow… Jack has come such a long way and grown! I was very impressed with how light he was on his feet and he had a great hold on his frame. 23/30

Amber Riley and Derek Hough start the season off with a Cha Cha, wow her dance was the most upbeat and FIERY of the night! She’s definitely a one to watch for… I loved the choreography and their chemistry. They earned a well deserved 27/30

Elizabeth Berkley and Valentin Chmerkovskiy are also dancing contemporary, but I would say their rendition was slightly more muted… she has a lot of potential, their dance was elegant but I would say she needs to watch her lines a bit more. 24/30

Bill Nye the Science Guy and Tyne Stecklein dance the Cha Cha to Weird Science, while the dance was definitely shaky… you can’t really hate on Bill lol. I was excited to see what he would deliver, I don’t see him lasting long but it was good to hear from him again. 14/30

Keyshawn Johnson and Sharna Burgess dance the ChaCha, as a football player their is pressure as out past players have set a good tone… I would say their dance was decent and they proved they can be contenders this season. There’s work to be done but I’m looking forward to seeing more from them. 17/30

Christina Milian and Mark Ballas start out with contemporary, the dance wasn’t bad… my biggest qualm was she needed to extend her lines more. I think given more time she’ll be a great competitor because tonight you could tell she was nervous. 22/30

Bill Engvall and Emma Slater start out wth a Foxtrot, and as much as he’s always joking… their dance was nothing to laugh at it was pretty good and a pleasant surprise. I enjoyed their choreography and definitely want to see what else he can bring to the competition. 18/30

Valerie Harper and Tristan Macmanus grace us with the Foxtrot, although she’s one of our seasoned contestants I would say she came out tonight with a lot of spunk. I always feel like women have it a tad harder in competitions like this. It was a good routine, felt a little short but good overall. 21/30

Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi and Sasha Farber finish the night with a ChaCha, the pint sized couple do a fun routine and definitely look like they’re enjoying themselves. It was a good routine but I didn’t like the ending where they looked like they just stopped and walked off. I would say with a bit of refinement they might have a chance to go far in the competition. 23/30

Overall I would say this was a great start to Season 17 of Dancing With The Stars, I think we’re in for a few surprises this year and I can’t wait! So far I’m rooting for Corbin & Karina, Amber & Derek and Brant & Peta!
