Da Vinci Tries Aveda Naturally Straight Products: Check It Out #AvedaNaturallyStraight

I received complimentary products from SheSpeaks/Aveda. All thoughts are my own.

As many of you know, I’m embarking on my own natural hair journey. I think many of us are going natural for our own particular reasons. For me it’s just about allowing my hair to be what the Lord gave me, however, I’m not opposed to wearing weaves or straightening my hair from time to time. When I started this journey I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I knew based on the health concerns of perming it was just something I needed to do… I can’t lie at least once a month I do consider perming my hair LOL. When I heard about Aveda’s Smooth Infusion line, I jumped at the chance to try it out… after asking if it works on natural hair lol. For me doing my own hair is just not my favorite thing in the world, but because I like to be budget conscious I do have to know how to maintain my hair in between salon visits. Often times when I want to flat iron my hair it can take 4-5 hours and 2-3 tries to even get it as straight as I want. I have THICK curly hair, which is a blessing but definitely a chore to keep up with… for me anyway.

I received the Aveda Smooth Infusionâ„¢ Shampoo, Conditioner, Style Prep Smoother and Naturally Straight. I didn’t have any trouble using the products, I just used the following steps and voila straighter hair.

How to Use the Aveda Smooth Infusionâ„¢ Products:

Step 1: Wash hair with Aveda Smooth Infusionâ„¢ Shampoo and follow with Aveda Smooth Infusionâ„¢ Conditioner. Towel dry hair and comb through.

Step 2: Apply Aveda Smooth Infusionâ„¢ Style-Prep Smoother to damp hair, by working it through from the mid-shaft through the ends of hair.

Step 3: Apply Aveda Smooth Infusionâ„¢ Naturally Straight. Depending on hair length and thickness, start by using approximately a small coin sized drop of Smooth Infusionâ„¢ Naturally Straight styling creme on towel-dried, still-damp hair, applying it one section at a time.

Step 4: Blow-dry hair straight using the brush of your choice. Flat iron if desired.

As you can see in the pick above my hair/curls are definitely looser, but because I do have such tight curls and thick hair it’s definitely necessary to flat iron my hair also.
