Business Conferences To Plan For In Summer 2015

Summer isn’t too far off, now. Winter is receding for much of the US, and even those areas still trapped in the freezing cold are seeing an end in sight. It is a good time to begin planning for summer events, especially business conferences that might help you in your career later on. As they fill up fast, you don’t want to put off reserving your spot for any longer than you have to.

A number of great conferences have been announced all over the world for the summer of 2015. Start saving the date now!

Having an excuse to go to Costa Rica is enough of a reason to plan this one. But there are plenty of  other benefits, like being part of one of the best business and finance gatherings of the year. Right now there is a call for journals and white paper proposals, as well as possibilities for speakers and workshop holders.

You only have a couple of weeks for submissions, and registration for regular attendees ends March 28. So don’t delay, or you will miss the chance of a lifetime.

When and Where: San Jose, Costa Rica; May 26 – 29, 2015. This site would be your best for Costa Rica hotels and tours.

This year’s European Academy of Management has chosen a rather unique theme. Up for discussion is the precarious balance between the need for competitiveness in a technologically advanced and innovative market, and the struggles during a financial crisis and economic downturn that makes such competitiveness difficult.

Already, the deadline for white paper submissions and proposals has been closed, as this conference begins planning very early. But registration for attendees opens up in April, and tickets will sell out fast.

When and Where: Warsaw, Poland; June 17 – 20, 2015. See the official page for accommodation info.

Looking for something a bit less lecture based, and more business-to-business minded? This trade show may be what you are looking for. You can register for free and enjoy the benefits of several hours of speed networking through the day, a huge expo hall, a keynote speech by Bill Walsh, and five different sessions of workshops you can purchase tickets for.

They still have room for exhibitors, if you choose to take part. So sign up while you still can, and use the day to connect with others in your industry, and those outside of it.

When and Where: NYC, New York; June 4, 2015. Check this site for available hotels in Manhattan

What do Roberta Kaplan, Gloria Steinem, Haifaa al-Mansour and Sarah Vowell have in common? They are three of a number of amazing speakers who will be at ALA San Francisco this year. In addition to these guests we will also see some fantastic networking opportunities, many interesting lectures, an expo hall you don’t want to miss, and just the chance to be in San Fran for a week.

If you only visit one business conference this year, this is the one.

When and Where: San Francisco, California; June 25 – June 30, 2015. You can register a room here but you need to be registered for the conference in order to do that!

This is obviously not help in the summer, but it deserves a mention. Athletic business conferences are fairly rare, so you have to snatch them up when you get the chance if you’re in that industry. Lectures, panels, workshops, tours, a large trade show and more will be available to people of all positions within the industry.

When and Where: November 19 – 21, 2015. It is also in New Orleans. Considering it will be held in winter, this is a nice city to be in for the event.

If you can’t make it, here are a few additional resources to keep you inspred:
