Movie Review: THE DIVERGENT SERIES: ALLEGIANT
I’m a big fan of The Divergent Series movies, I can’t say how many times I’ve seen Divergent and Insurgent so I was really excited about watching the ALLEGIANT movie. This 3rd installment of the series takes Tris [Shailene Woodley] and Four [Theo James] into a new world that is far more dangerous than ever before. We get to see the world beyond the faction system and life after Jeanine. It was great seeing new antagonists and obstacles for our heroes to overcome but for someone like me who hasn’t read the books this movie was a bit confusing at times. I honestly felt like this was the first movie in the series that I need to have read the books to fully understand everything. With that said, the dynamic of Four and Tris is quite different in this film and we get to see another layer to Tris and Caleb’s bond. I didn’t like that some of the scenes looked really green screenish but I’m sure that’s a big struggle in films of this type.
At the end of the day, I enjoyed most of the movie and it did leave me excited to see the next installment of the series Ascendant.
