Spring is a great time for road trips, especially during spring break time, over a three day weekend or even for a longer vacation. Flowers are beginning to bloom, the weather begins to warm up and the world seems to wake from its wintry slumber. It’s the perfect time for a road trip to avoid both the crowds of summer travelers and the perilous road conditions that often accompany winter. So here are three spring road trips in the US you should definitely consider taking this year.
1. West Coast
Whether you start in Portland, Oregon and go south to San Francisco, California, you should consider taking a trip through California’s wine country. You could also venture north to the Cascades and Olympic Mountains of Washington state, as there are plenty of scenic coastlines, mountain ranges and breathtaking valleys to drive through and explore along the West Coast. 2. North Florida

If you’re a Civil War buff, there are numerous sites to visit in this area, from Vicksburg, Mississippi to Savannah, Georgia. Other cool places to visit include the bustling city of Atlanta and the NASA installations in Huntsville, Alabama. There are also plenty of charming and relaxed beach towns all along the coast, including Gulf Shores and Orange Beach, Alabama, Biloxi, Mississippi, and St. Marys, Georgia.
These may be some of the best areas to road trip through in the spring, but they are definitely not your only options. You don’t even have to go anywhere exotic, either – sometimes exploring places near where you live can be a very rewarding and fulfilling experience.
