Get Up and Get Active

There are so many confirmed studies about the benefits of exercise which includes boosting your mood. This means that when you do not exercise, your fitness level and goals go by the wayside. However, exercise can actually be the highlight of your day. With some exciting music followed by a refreshing shower, you will not only feel invigorated but highly motivated to tackle the world.

Even if you start out small such stretching or yoga, as little as 10 minutes a day can be very beneficial for your physique and attitude. Maybe walk to work or climb the stairs so you can reap the rewards.

Aim for Daily Motivation

Like a pendulum in action, motivation builds momentum. In fact, staying motivated triggers great inspiration and drive. As well, when you are highly motivated it will to carry you through the difficult times. It doesn’t matter if it has been a month or a day since you were on track, just get up and start going now. Soon you will have a myriad of successes, each one outshining the last. To keep yourself inspired, always start the day off with anything that triggers your motivation.

If you fall off your régime, acknowledge that we all have failings. Just get back on track immediately. As Dallin Larsen says, “Life is about Learning, Growing and Becoming a blessing to others” as well as being good to yourself even when you have shortcomings.

Keep the Doldrums at Bay

Again, if you stay mentally and physically active you will stay motivated. Never allow yourself to be in a slump. Although, skipping a workout to visit with friends is okay, don’t allow your mini break to interfere with your motivation. Always get back on track the next day. The longer you procrastinate the harder it becomes to get going again. Before you know it, a week has gone by and then you start making excuses why it is a bad day to get back into the routine.

Get Outdoors

There are certain colors that trigger responses. For instance, the color red can stimulate the mind and body plus increase circulation. You will often find the color red used in restaurants and bars. This is because it stimulates the appetite and thirst. Red is also used in sales in advertising. It not only makes you feel more aggressive but it is associated with danger. A prime example is a stop sign. In addition, the color red can stimulate energy, yet too much exposure can lead to burnout.

On the other hand, the color green boosts your motivation and energy. In fact, numerous studies show that surrounding yourself with a little green can spark your creativity and increase motivation. Many specialists agree that the emotional response to the color green includes comfort, growth, natural and organic, positive moods and ambition with minimal stress. Even in marketing, green is used to create certain emotional responses such as tranquility, peacefulness and optimum health.

It stands to reason that taking a walk outdoors where it is green offers many benefits for the mind and body. Seeing green make you think of growth, such as spring and the garden. As well, you will be invigorated by the beauty and fresh air where there is an abundant amount of plant life and growth.

So the next time you feel unmotivated, take a walk outside and smell the roses.
