My 5 Favorite Things About Summer in the South

Living in the South sure brings on the Summer heat. I’ve been living in the South for over 20 years and while Summers get HOT, I wouldn’t change it! Summer is one of my favorite seasons because it really brings people together. Kids are out of school, cookouts are a plenty, and pool days are in full force. This Summer I’ve really enjoyed spending time by the pool with friends, going to a few day parties and soaking up the Southern sun. With a little over a month to go, I wanted to share a few of my favorite things about Summer.
My 5 Favorite Things About Summer in the South
Pool Days: After a long day or week, there are few things more relaxing that laying out at the beach with friends and enjoying a glass of lemonade or tea. And if you’re in the mood for ice cream, frozen yogurt or Italian ice; you can stop by Swirl World at RaceTrac before you head to the pool.
Amusement Parks: I’ll always be a sucker for a good day at an amusement park. I prefer going during the week when people are still at work but it’s an exhilarating way to spend the day. And if you’re close to a water park, that’s the perfect way to have fun and stay cool.
Cookouts: Summers in the South are awesome because any and everything is an excuse to have a cookout. No matter how many times I get bbq, as long as the chefs are throwing down I’m always ready to chow! lol
