  • Save

Working at a desk job can take its toll on your body. It may make you stiff or uncomfortable at times. Not to mention, it can be incredibly distracting when it comes to your productivity and being able to meet quotas. For those people that have arthritis, it can be absolutely harrowing. If this happens to be your situations, here are four steps that you can take in order to deal with your condition at work:

Take the Time to Stretch

One of the things that you can do when dealing with arthritis at work is to do stretches. This can be done by standing up at your desk and stretching your arms up above your head. Move your hands into different positions. You may also want to stretch your legs too. Having your body be stress-free can alleviate lots of the pain that may come due to your arthritis. If you would like, a brisk walk around the work area is also a great idea for those that are dealing with a lot of arthritis pain or simply don’t feel comfortable stretching around those who may be sitting near your desk area.

Do Neck Rolls

Another great way to relieve the pain of arthritis at work is to do neck rolls. Start by having your chin at your chest and then roll your neck clockwise and then counterclockwise. This will release some of the tension that you feel throughout your body.

Stretch out Your Fingers Finger

By doing finger stretches, you can relieve some of the pain you feel in your hands. This is especially important if you’re typing all of the time as it will give you more comfort. Make sure that you do these when you first come into work and regularly throughout the day. Every half an hour usually works the best. You can also shake out your wrists or lightly massage them for added help with the pain.

Seek Natural Options

Many people like to use natural options for dealing with arthritis at work. They may drink special, herbal teas or bring certain snacks that help the pain. In states where it is permitted, some may even seek out medical marijuana to help get the relief they need. If that is the option that you go for, just make sure that you are following the instructions for usage completely so that you will get the full benefit from it.

Hopefully, you have found the above advice helpful to you as you go about seeking relief from your arthritis. Dealing with pain at work can be tiresome, but with patience and an open mind to trying new relief techniques, you should be just fine.
