Staying Young In Your 40’s

 Staying Young In Your 40's
  • Save

Life can go by in the blink of an eye. One day you’re coming home from school asking about college courses and the next you’re struggling to pay your rent. As you get older they say that time moves quicker, and you may feel that by the time you hit your 40’s you’ve lost out on precious time.

When you reach the age of 40 you can lose a lot of confidence. It’s understandable to feel as if you are getting old and you cannot enjoy the same things anymore, and a lot of the time the body agrees. You might suddenly need a hearing device or glasses as your senses fade. However, there is no need to stop being happy in your 40’s, and if you are starting to feel old and grumpy here are some ways to make you feel and look younger again.

Drink More Water

Water is the most important ingredient in all living things, we are made up of 70% of the stuff. Drinking enough water is not only great for your overall health. But it can be a good combat for low energy levels as well as your skin. It can make your skin look 10 years younger if you drink 2 litres of water every single day.

Have Sex

Yepp. One of the best ways to make you feel more confident about the way you look is to have sex regularly with your partner. Don’t allow your relationship to start going stale as you grow older. Spice things up in the bedroom with new ideas and a dash of fun. It sure isn’t something you should be complaining about!

Take Yoga Class

You may think of yoga as simply a form of exercise, but it is actually incredibly useful for our general state of mind too. By doing yoga you are bringing your focus inward for a short time each week, and this can be greatly beneficial for your mental health as well as your overall strength. It will keep your muscles tight, make you feel agile and allow you to reduce stress too.

Go Hiking

Being outside is the best thing you can do for your body at any age. It is great for the soul and makes us much more energised. The next time there is a sunny day, pack up a small picnic and get out into the countryside for the day. You will feel amazing when you are walking in the fresh air, feeling much younger and free.

Smile!

Believe it or not you can make yourself look younger by simply showing your teeth. In a study they found that simply smiling makes you seem much younger than if you don’t. So, say cheese!

Lift Weights

A huge part of feeling younger is to make sure you look after your body. Sure, a run around the park each morning is great for your heart, but lifting weights is what will sculpt and shape your muscles. If you want to look younger and feel stronger, try lifting weights once or twice a week at the gym or at home.
