Bumblebee Review

When I heard about the Bumblebee movie, I was on the fence lol. I love the Transformers franchise and part of me wondered if this new Bumblebee movie was just about stretching the franchise. However, once I saw the film I was ecstatic. Bumblebee is the perfect film for fans of the Transformers movie franchise and anyone who hasn’t seen the films.
This prequel, gave me the backstory about Cybertron that I didn’t even realize I was missing. You do get a glimpse of some of your faves like Optimus Prime but the movie is still centered around Bee. Beyond that, the film being set in the 80’s adds a whole new element of nostalgia. The soundtrack for Bumblebee was awesome, I found myself bopping my head to some of my favorite hits. And the writing was impeccable, the jokes didn’t feel forced or fall flat. It was also great to see the girl power aspect, because some things are just different from a female perspective.
Bumblebee definitely hits the mark with being just as good as the first Transformers movie. It’s not done in a way that makes you feel like it’s part of a played out blueprint. This film has it’s own identity and Transformers fans that love Bumblebee in the other movies definitely get more of what makes him a lovable character.
It’s a great movie for family and friends to see, so it’s good that it’s out in time for the holidays. I think movie goers are in for a treat.
