Movie Review: Where’d You Go, Bernadette
I’m so glad I got to check out Where’d You Go, Bernadette, is a movie based on a novel of the same name by Maria Semple. I hadn’t got a chance to read the book ahead of time, but honestly I’m glad I went into it with a fresh and clear mind. The film features a star studded cast; Cate Blanchett, Billy Crudup, Emma Nelson, Kristen Wiig, Judy Greer, Laurence Fishburne, Troian Bellisario and James Urbaniak. Watching this movie made me want to read the Where’d You Go, Bernadette book.
Bernadette is a character that many of us can relate to. She’s talented a woman, mother, wife and trying to balance how she can wear all those hats. If you’ve dealt with any form of social anxiety, you’ll be able to empathize with her struggles.

Bernadette hates people, leaving the house, and more than anything, she hates the other parents at her daughter Bee’s school. When life takes an interesting turn… Bernadette goes missing, and we get a chance to see where Bernadette’s journey and awakening take her.
As women we take on so much and often sacrifice ourselves for love, career and everything else. I think this movie is a reminder that if we don’t live with passion, we can all be a menace to society.
