What Does Self-Care Mean To You?
What does self-care mean to you? It is easy to mistake self card for being selfish and indulging yourself, but that couldn’t be further from the truth.
In fact, the act of self-care can be so much more than treating yourself to something you really want to do. It is about taking care of your physical and mental health. About making sure you are looking after yourself in a fundamental way to make sure you are in the best condition possible to live your day to day life. It is about picking yourself when you are run down and treating yourself to something to help you be back on top.

Physical health.
Self Care can be taking the time to stop and treat any niggling issues with your body you have been putting off. Maybe you have been having problems with your sight or hearing. Take the time to learn more about how hearing tests can make sure your hearing is as good as it can be.
Visit your GP to make sure you look into any issues you may have been experiencing and get them resolved. This is the first step of getting back your health and feeling better physically.
Mental health.
Taking care of your mental health is as important as taking care of your body physically. Stress and anxiety can play a massive part in how we deal with our day to day lives, and if left unchecked, could really affect other areas of your life.
Taking the time to discuss any concerns you have with a medical professional is essential, as is making any small changes you are able to cope with.
Things such as adding exercise to your daily routine or taking up yoga or meditation can help you to relax a little bit more.
Maybe you can start a journal to help you identify any triggers and come up with ways to eliminate them or reduce your reactions to them.
Relax.
Being always on the go isn’t good for anyone. We all need to take the time to stop and relax. Being able to unwind is something a lot of people don’t allow themselves to do, especially in a world where we’re always connected. So, switch off your electronic devices and disconnect for an hour or a day – even a week. A digital detox can be good for the mind and the soul.
Run a bath, read a book or take the time to binge-watch your favourite TV show, or simply do nothing. Indulge yourself in something that helps you to unwind and relax. Take the time for yourself to do something that truly benefits you and will help you feel better and bring some extra happiness into your day.
Essentially, self-care is about the small things. It is taking the time to take care of yourself regularly as well as treating yourself to luxurious experiences to pamper yourself should you wish.
