When the hot and humid days of summer arrive, cleaning your house can feel like a chore you are in no hurry to complete. However, while the many tasks at hand may seem like they have you destined to be sweating all day long, there are actually a few ways to make your summertime cleaning simple and serene. If you’re ready to do so, follow these tips as you say so long to dirt, dust, and grime.
Empty Your Freezer
If you want to accomplish something that needs to be done but stay cool in the process, take some time on a hot summer day to empty and clean your freezer. For starters, you can use your car’s ice scraper and some hot water to get rid of frost that has built up over time. Along the way, you can toss out anything that has freezer burn or has gone past its expiration date. Before you know it, you’ll have a clean freezer without breaking a sweat.
Clear Out the Clutter
When it has been awhile since you last did a big cleaning of your home, chances are plenty of stuff has accumulated along the way. Even if you’ve had a garage sale now and then, there will still be lots of things in your junk pile. Therefore, encourage your kids to spend as much time outside as possible on a daily basis. At the same time, they can take your family dog or cat with them into the backyard. By not turning your living room into their playground, you’ll have much less cleaning requiring your attention.
