The stigma seems to come from mental health support in general and the attitudes that many have had over time toward those with mental health problems.
Anyone who gets therapy is often assumed to be unstable and perhaps vulnerable. Many of us don’t want to admit that we’re either unstable or vulnerable, so as a result, we shy away from therapy.
Everyone can benefit from therapy
It’s important to realize that everyone can benefit from therapy. After all, we all have brains. Many of us can experience trauma throughout life and our personalities are made up of a mixture of feelings that can play havoc on our mental state.

Those who really need it avoid it due to the stigma
The problem with the stigma is that it prevents those who really need the therapy, from going in the first place. While therapy is for everyone, there are those that would rely on it in order to make the change they need to their mental state.

It’ll only make mental health issues worse
Mental health is something that can be addressed with help like therapy. If it’s not attended to, then chances are it’s going to get worse. That individual might get to the point where they don’t see value in their life anymore.

Generational trauma is clearly a problem
It’s important to note that today’s younger generations are addressing the trauma that has been passed down from generation to generation. Those that say ‘you young lot didn’t have it as bad as we used to have it’ are simply preventing progress from being made in breaking down trauma.
With generational trauma a problem, amongst an abundance of other mental problems, the stigma of therapy needs to end.
