Sea-Band Mama! All Natural Relief for Morning Sickness

Being on my second pregnancy, a lot is different, but some things remained the same, and one of those things was nausea. A lot of it. I did get lucky in a sense… I don’t throw up, BUT the nausea was pretty much nonstop, and it was worse this pregnancy than it was my first.

My first pregnancy, I had aversions to a number of foods, but the smell of one thing always made me want to yack – coffee. Made it really easy to quit caffeine! This pregnancy, I had the dreaded symptom of EXTREMELY sensitive sense of smell, so MANY smells made me nauseous – including my daughter’s baby cereal. Feeding her in the mornings was an absolute nightmare.

This pregnancy I looked into a product to help curb morning sickness and nausea – Sea-Band Mama! The great thing about these products is that they help without the use of any drugs. The wristbands work by using acupressure, triggering the P6 Nei Kuan pressure point inside the wrist; no, I don’t know what that is either! But I do know that acupressure works and is safe, and that’s all I care about. The ginger lozenges are free of artificial colors and flavors, and include folic acid. If you’ve ever drank ginger ale to settle your stomach (and I did drink a lot of it during my first pregnancy for that reason), you know how it can help, and these lozenges are much healthier. Both of these products, like I said, use no drugs, and they have no side effects. They are completely safe during pregnancy.

Another way I helped reduce my nausea was too eat. I realize for those who haven’t experienced morning sickness that this suggestion sounds like craziness, but it really works. If you are feeling nauseous, eat something small. Eating many small meals throughout the day instead of three large ones can help a lot. I made sure I had healthy snacks on me at all times.

Other suggestions for reducing your pregnancy nausea:

  • Drink plenty of water, even when you don’t feel like you can – being dehydrated will make your nausea worse.
  • Try switching your pre-natal vitamins (talk with your doctor); some include ingredients that can make nausea worse – I had this problem with this pregnancy.
  • Wear loose and comfortable clothing.

Combining the Sea-Band Mama! line with other nausea reducing suggestions is sure to be a great help during that dreaded first trimester (and longer, for the unlucky ladies who don’t see relief in the second trimester!). Sea-Band Mama! is available at CVS.
