Beauty Tips For A Girls Night In
There’s nothing better than inviting the the girls over to spend the evening chatting about the stresses of the week. Before everyone arrives, have a few treats on hand to make the evening as luxurious as possible.
Make an iTunes playlist of your favorite music, be sure to have your laptop on hand for a movie marathon and pop open the bubbly – you deserve it!
DIY skincare
No girls night in is complete without a good facial– whilst you can pay a small fortune for one at your local spa, it’s so simple to throw one together with just a few items from your fridge.
Combine two tablespoons of coconut oil (your local health food store will stock this in abundance) to 1 tablespoon of caster sugar, then the juice of a whole lemon, for a hydrating mask that’s perfect for dry skin. If your complexion is more oily, opt for one whole banana, one egg yolk and the juice of half a lemon for a much more tightening result.
Perfect polish
The cold nights are here to stay and with summer not quite around the corner just yet, warm, dark tones are still all over the catwalk at this time of year. Think plums, deep reds, earthy shades of sooty black, charcoal gray and emerald green.
Start off by using a buffer to prime the nail bed, then file your nails into a round shape with an emery board (make sure your hands are completely dry for this part, to avoid splitting) and apply moisturizer. Next, soak your fingertips in warm water, push your cuticles back gently using a cuticle pusher and apply a base coat. This will give you the best possible base- now you’re ready to apply your nail varnish, which you can pick up pretty much anywhere, even from supermarkets like Tesco.
Research Time
If you’re having a night in, this could be a good time to look into any professional beauty treatments you might be interested in. Whether that’s eyebrow threading, a facial or a mommy makeover, there’s bound to be something out there that will tick your boxes.
Haircare heaven
Similarly to face masks, hair masks are so easy to make yourself, you can throw them together using things you have at home. Egg yolks and long hair are best friends, they will act as an instant de-tangling agent. Mix two egg yolks to five tablespoons of olive oil then add one tablespoon of honey.
If you color your hair, it can also be a good time to get a helping hand- no more missing your head and ruining the bathroom walls, take advantage of having an extra pair of hands whilst the girls are round.
After an evening of pampering, it’s time to feel relaxed, recharge and rejuvenate. The only thing left to do is put your feet up, call for take out pizza and catch up with your girls. Oh.. and all the latest Channing Tatum has to offer on Netflix!
