Your Ultimate Makeover Guide This Season: Spring 2016

As the spring chill gives way to the warm summer tones, fashionistas around the world rekindle their trendsetting prowess to think of ways to give their look a revamp and their demeanor, a touch of class. While you begin to put your bulky trench coats back in the trunks and make way for the warmness of summer, take a cue from the industry’s trailblazers about their picks on the biggest summer trends in fashion and beauty. We’ve compiled the season’s ultimate makeover guide to ensure you step out of your house looking nothing short of a diva, this summer:
Make-Up Matters – This season will see some surprising additions to your beauty vanity along with the familiar bronze highlighters and colorful eye shadows. Go on and make a statement with candy apple lips, colorful eyes and some brilliant hues of blues. Here are some of our favorite make-up picks for summer:
- Color Pop – Forget neutrals and go all out on colored kohls and liners! From the bold blue lined eyes to uneven eyeshadows, this summer is going to be bright and beautiful. Several other eyeshadows like pink, white and primary yellow were seen. Blue liner/eyeshadow definitely looks adoptable for real life. Although pink, yellow and other colors may seem to bright for everyday use, we can surely tone down and use them for a perfect spring look.

- Lash Out – Exaggerated lashes and doll like look was brought in by Loius Vuitton, Marni and Jeremy Scott. Models like Gigi Hadid carried the doll like look with painted lashes. Some others looked cartoonish with intentionally clumped up mascara. Looks like we are going to see crazy 60’s lashes this spring with heavy lower lash mascara.
- Go Bronze – Naturally tanned look with bronze highlight was one of the looks seen on the ramp. This is a very summery sun-kissed look with radiant skin and flushed cheeks.
- Candy Apple and Vampire Lips – While nude lips did make the rounds at some Spring/Summer 2016 fashion shows, what stood out most were candy apple and vampire lips. Although red lips have always been classic, this season all the designers seemed have stood together with the candy apple lips. Vampire lips also made appearance in this season’s trends.

Hair Affair – Bobs and lobs may have ruled the hairstyle charts the whole of last year, but long hair has made a major comeback this season! Whether you like leaving your tresses loose or prefer tying them at the back, you are in luck as we’ve listed out styles to suit every long haired woman’s fancy:
- Long Ponytails –One of the easiest and most popular go-to hairstyles for diamond shaped face women has also become the most stylish, this summer. Ponytails are big this season and designers were seen adding their own interesting touch to this simple style. While ponytails were high, long and slick at Balmain.
- Wet Hair Look – Wet hair look with tomboyish style, backcombed sleek hair and some wet hair beachy looks did make good appearances at SS2016.
- Messy Hair – Nothing spells effortlessly chic better than a messy hair. Everyday look for most women includes messy updos, half loops and that was what it was for Bottega Venetta and Dolce & Gabbana.
- Hair Embellishments – This season is all about dressing up your hair. Hair accessories have made it big, as hair stylists at the Spring/Summer 2016 fashion shows added little pieces of flair to the model’s easy breezy hairdos. One thing is certain that hair accessories are surely worth investing in, this season.

- Ruffled- High collars and puffy sleeves from the victorian era are making a come back again. Elegant dresses and lovely prints are definitely going to make their way back along with ruffles.
- 70’s & 90’s – This season, Jonathan Sanders, Rebecca Minkoff, Alberta Ferretti, brought the suede back on the runway. Burberry Prorsum, Rochas, Emilio Pucci and Celine brought back the 90’s with mix of lace and chiffon/satin. We can totally pull off this look with some pretty lace and satin dresses.
- Stripes and others – Graphic stripes and large plaids made a statement this season. Prada, Dolce & Gabbana, Victoria Beckam and Brooks Brothers are some of the designers who showcased this beauty.
- Accessories & Shoes – Backpacks, graphic bags, extra long earrings, gold chains, berets,brooches and cool flats are some of the other trends for this SS16
