3 Careers That Show A Passion For Caring
Some people just have that burning desire to care for others. So deep that the average office job just isn’t got them. If you know this is you, but you know you’re stuck behind a desk all day, then we’re here to show you why there’s more out there for you. You want to be in a career where your best traits are shining through, it is the career that you will excel at. They’re often the most rewarding of careers as well. When you’re giving that level of care to someone that they just can’t get from anyone else, it makes you feel really humble. So, if you know you’re destined for a career in care, here’s some of the best that you might like to enter into.
Nursing
Nursing is such a rewarding career, but it is one that is long and hard to get into. Whether you’re looking to go into children’s, or adults nursing, you’ll be expected to complete a pretty intense degree. But once you’re within the role, the rewards will just keep on coming. There’s always chances to grow and become a better nurse as well. A lot of people take further training such as the accredited online RN to MSN degrees. It helps to build on the knowledge you’ve already got, and to potentially move you on to different aspects of the career. Nursing is a tough role however. The hours are long, and some of the things you might see will be upsetting. It is important to understand the care you’re giving might not always make someone better. So you do need to be rather mentally strong
Paramedics
Some people prefer paramedics due to the diversity you’re going to see. Unless you’re on an A&E or critical care ward, you might not be subjected to diversity with nursing. But, with paramedics, you’re most likely going to be seeing something new every day. You’re the first response when an accident has happened, or when someone’s health has deteriorated. It is often the initial care that you’ll be giving that will help to save someone’s life. Again, being a paramedic is hard, and you will often find some of the scenes you’re called to might be rather gruesome, especially if it was something like a road traffic accident. You’ll also have to get a degree to be in the profession, and the hours are long, but the diversity and reward of the job is going to make it all worth it.
Psychologist
A psychologist is a slightly different approach to caring, but you’re still helping people through some of their most difficult times regardless. You’ll see so many different cases on a daily basis, and so many different mental health issues caused by different circumstances, it can often be a hard day to tackle. But the people will be coming to you for help, and your training, again at degree level, will be what is needed to unravel what is going on in their mind. The pay is usually slightly higher than the other two professions as well.
