De-clutter – There is only one place to begin, and this is by getting rid of the clutter around your desk. Clutter makes it impossible for people to think straight. It creates frustration and stress, and stops you from allowing your creative and productive juices to flow. De-cluttering, therefore, can make a huge difference, and should definitely be the first thing you do to boost productivity. If your office space is beyond a bit of de-cluttering, consider professional office cleaning. This will give everyone a boost in the workplace, which will automatically result in enhanced productivity.

Turn off notifications – Another effective way to enhance productivity is to turn the notifications off on your computer. If you have email and social media notifications switched on, they are only going to disrupt you all of the time. Responding instantly to these messages is one of the biggest productivity killers. Switch them off and allocate yourself a time to check your emails and social media throughout the day.

Take regular breaks – A lot of people assume that taking frequent breaks is a waste of time, but this is certainly not the case. A break gives you the chance to refresh so that you come back with improved concentration, enabling you to achieve more. After all, if you sit at a computer for 90 minutes straight, you are not going to be able to maintain the same levels of concentration and focus for the next 90 minutes. A 15-minute break can make a huge difference.

Track how much time you spend on tasks – The final thing you need to do is make sure you track the amount of time you spend on tasks, and then limit how much you spend on time. A lot of people think they are good at estimating the time they spend on tasks, but the reality is very different. You need to get a grip on how much time you spend on all of your tasks at the business you work for so you can see where your inefficiencies lie so that you can put the steps in place to rectify them.

As you can see, there are many different ways you can boost your productivity in the office. Follow the steps above and you are bound to notice a difference with regards to what you achieve in the workplace and how quickly you go about it.
