3 Ways to Level Up Your Life
We only live once so it’s important to make the most of it- to live responsibly while still enjoying ourselves and making the most of our situation. If you feel like you should be doing more in life or are just in a bit of a rut, here are three ideas for ways you could level up.
Improve your career
How do you feel about your career? In all fairness, few of us wake up on Monday morning and leap out of bed, excited to get to work and start the week. However, you shouldnt absolutely despise your job either, and if it makes you deeply unhappy then it’s worth making a change. This could mean moving to a new company, getting a promotion or even starting from scratch and making a complete career change. You should find your career interesting or rewarding in some way, if you’re no longer being challenged (or you’re having too much pressure put on you without enough reward) then you don’t have to just live with it. Changing careers takes bravery as you’re stepping into the unknown and away from the secure financial situation you’ve built for yourself. But it can be so worth it in the long run.
Learn a new skill
Many of us stop learning once we leave formal education. We fall into a rut where we’re doing the same things day in day out, and never pushing our boundaries or learning new things. You could join an academic course at an online college or university like the University of Nevada Reno. You could learn a new language or musical instrument with a tutor, you could learn to drive, or start a hobby that teaches you new skills such as cooking, baking, gardening or painting. Learning new skills improves your brain and also boosts self esteem, you might even meet new lifelong friends with the same interests as you.
Work on your health
Health is about so much more than eating salads and going to the gym. Health is an overall state of wellbeing, it’s about looking after yourself physically and mentally. Clean up your diet, but do this in a way that’s easy to maintain such as learning to cook healthy but delicious foods. Get more active but dont torture yourself with exercise that you hate- take up a sport, go to a class or go swimming instead. Get into a good routine with your sleep, and ditch the dangerous vices such as smoking, drinking or taking recreational drugs. You only get one body so it’s important to treat it well, you’ll be rewarded with a happier and healthier life.
