Fall Fashion Trends That Will Keep You Comfortable and Stylish

Gone are sunny, lazy days while dark, snowy ones loom in the not so distant future. Luckily, being stylish for Fall 2015 is all about something usually not associated with fashion: comfort. This season we get to look chic without mandatory shapewear. The following trends will keep you both comfortable and stylish.

Loose-fitting pants

The skinny pant hasn’t gone away just yet, but thanks to some major throwback this season both men and women get to wear baggier pants without looking out of style. 70s era flared bottoms are everywhere for women, which are especially popular among business dress. Loose-fitting pants go great with a stylish sweatshirt or jacket and scarf.

Chunky knits

Truly a trend that never fades, this season it’s all about baggy sweaters with rich textures and bold patterns. Men can stick with solid staples jazzed up with cables and textures. Women can also stock up on textured neutrals or branch out with any number of bold colors and patterns, including plaids and florals.

The Classic Comfort

Hoodies are a casual wardrobe staple you’ll always need. To avoid looking like an preteen, the key is to stay away from plain silhouettes and to search for surprising details. Pops of color and unique necklines are two details that always stand out. For men, this website offers the best Hoodies that have asymmetrical zippers, scoop hoods, and peeks of color to catch the eye. Women can find similar options almost anywhere.

Turtlenecks

One of the best things about fall is the layering and this season is bringing to the forefront a long-forgotten classic: the turtleneck. Turtlenecks are comfortable, provide full skin coverage, and they look great layered under jackets, cardigans, and blazers with their little peeks at the neck and sleeves. A cool option for men is the charcoal grey fitted turtleneck at Theory, and for women the basic turtlenecks with a little something extra at the flared sleeves from Elizabeth and James are a wardrobe requirement.

Top it Off

A lower layer isn’t any good without an upper layer. So invest in a hot piece for this season that will stay with you through Fall and into Winter: the Shearling Coat. For men the Ted Baker coat with a shearling collar in a dark navy plaid hits the spot. Women have so many fabulous options with collar, sleeve, and front embellishments. One particularly chic option is an incredible moto jacket with a full shearling color and asymmetrical front zipper from Elie Tahari.

So, slip on your coat to top off some flared pants, chunky sweaters, statement hoodies, and turtlenecks (perhaps not all at the same time) and you’re ready for Fall. Staying fashionable doesn’t always mean you have to sacrifice comfort.
