6 Ways to Upgrade Your Bedroom Today
Our bedrooms are a place that we go to rest, and sleep is considered an important part of daily life. In fact, getting a good night sleep is believed to be responsible for good health and overall wellbeing. So why are our bedrooms not the best? Here are some ideas on how to change your bedroom for the better.

Change Your Mattress
We hard to break it to you but your mattress is probably one of the worse things in your bedroom. Over time, skin cells, sweat, and mites collect inside the layers. This, if left for too long, can create a health hazard. Your mattress should be vacuumed once a week when you wash the sheets. You might even want to upgrade your bed to these when you upgrade your mattress.
Clear the Clutter
We all have beautiful things in our home but we don’t need to have them all on display, especially in the bedroom. Clearing the clutter can be a great way to improve your overall mental health, and it can do wonders for your room. Too much clutter can cause your mind to be unsettled when you are falling asleep. And this can impact your quality of sleep. If you are not sure, try removing one of two pieces from your room and see if it has an impact.
Remove the Screens
Our smartphones and tablets are wonderful pieces of technology but they need to stay out of the bedroom. Having screens in the room can affect your sleep for a number of reasons. The constant notifications, screen lights, and the need to check your phone can affect your sleep. You don’t need your phone or TV at night so keep them in another room.
Calm the Colours
This point goes on the back of the clear clutter point, as busy colours can make a busy mind. Even goths like to keep their rooms clam colours with white walls and black accessories. Colour can be wonderful in other areas of your house, but in the bedroom, you should keep them calm and muted.
Soft Lighting
Nobody likes to wake up in the morning and switch on a harsh light, so invest in some bulbs with a difference. Low wattage bulbs are ideal for the bedroom as you can save energy and they are dimmer than regular bulbs. You can even get vintage-inspired bulbs that cast orange light instead of bright white.
Natural Fibres
Your bedroom is filled with different fabrics and fibres which are designed for your comfort. However, your skin and your breathing would benefit from natural fibres. Silk is an excellent choice for sheets if you can stomach the price tag. Wool carpet is an excellent choice for something soft on the floor, especially if you can incest in some think underlay. A lot of people don’t like the idea of the carpet but in the bedroom, it is a wonderful choice. All you need to do is give it a good vacuum and never wear shoes on it and it will stay brilliant for years.
