As we all get older we know our bodies change whether we want them to or not. I have a milestone birthday coming up in December and I’ve been thinking about ways to look and feel more fantastic in my Life After 25. Overall I’m just trying to be a better grown up, lol. When I look around at different adults, I’ve noticed that a lot of us haven’t been taking our “self care” or health more seriously.  Whether it’s because we’re hustling and bustling chasing our corporate dreams, constantly taking care of others; kids, spouses, or a combination of those things… many times our self care usually comes last. While caring for others is admirable think about it this way, if you don’t take care of yourself you won’t be able to care for your loved ones properly anyway or long term.

With all these thoughts about self care and wanting to stay healthy I was happy to hear about America’s Biggest Health Fair being hosted by Walmart. I think it’s an awesome option for everyone to attend. Whether you’re single, married or a family you would have the opportunity to get free health screenings, free health insurance education and so much more. It’s really a no brainer!  Check out the event details below.

To encourage you all to live a healthier lifestyle I’ve come up with a list of Top 10 Tips to Living A Healthier Life in Your Life After 25!

  1. Get more uninterrupted sleep; sleep is when our body heals and refreshes. We need it!

     2. Don’t diet, eat healthy. So many times I hear about people trying all kinds of yo-yo diet methods.  The   truth is your best bet is to eat smaller healthy meal/snack portions and more often during the day.

     3. Drink LOTS of water; this can be hard because even I love juice and the occasional fizzy drink… however, keeping properly hydrated and flushing out your system is a must.

    4. Exercise on a regular basis; if you’re looking for fitness tips and ideas check out our health & fitness section.

    5. Have GREAT sex! Studies show that Sex reduces stress and may lower the risk of chronic disease.

    6. Get out and about for your dose of Vitamin D, sun exposure is one of the best ways to soak up Vitamin D, just remember not to bake in the sun.

    7. Cleanse and detox on occasion, there’s nothing wrong with doing the occasional detox treatment to clear toxins from your body. I’ve done some teas and other methods in the past.

    8. Try not to stress out, lol… easier said than done but stress is killing so many of us.  Take mental breaks every now and then you can even try meditating if that works for you.

   9. Laughter! Laughing is a great form of medicine… it also works your ab muscles out.

  10. Visit America’s Biggest Health Fair at Walmart on October 10th!
