5 Ways A Day At SunTrust Park Is Great For Any Occassion!

Atlanta has so much to offer but one of its underrated gems is SunTrust Park and the Battery Atlanta. I think the common misconception is that it’s just for baseball fans. While Braves baseball is an awesome part of the experience, SunTrust Park has more to offer. Recently, I checked out a Braves game with a friend, and I was even reminded of all the fun things you can do at SunTrust Park. Whether you’re going solo, with friends or even for a date night, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. With that said, I’ve put together a budget-friendly list of 5 Ways a Day at SunTrust Park is Great for Any Occasion.

5 Ways A Day At SunTrust Park Is Great For Any Occassion
1. Dining for Every Budget
SunTrust Park and the Battery Atlanta has a wide variety of places to dine. I love that you can get great food at a solid price point. If you’re looking for a budget friendly lunch or dinner, check out Wahlburgers. Another great option is Feed Fried Chicken. This visit was my first time trying it out but we were able to get dinner for two for under $30. And if you have extra room in the budget for dessert there’s a Haagen Dazs, because ice cream is always a great choice.

2. Let’s Go SHOPPING!
Since there is so much to do at SunTrust Park it’s easy to forget how many great shops are around the Battery Atlanta. If you’ve been putting aside money in your budget for miscellaneous wants, then you don’t have to feel guilty about a little shopping. You can find clothes, athletic supplies, paper products and much more. I love that they’ll add new stores soon. Since we’re all trying to make great financial decisions, here’s a pro tip: check out the sales/clearance sections first. Ask yourself if what you’re buying is something you’ll use/wear on a regular basis, and if not, then it’s not a need. Personally, I’m a fan of retail therapy… you can always just peruse and when something does meet your needs grab it up. SunTrust Park makes for a great spot for a shopping trip with friends or a way to work off that delicious food.

3. Move onUp!
I’ve written about The onUp Experience before, but I love that SunTrust keeps adding new things to keep the experience fresh. On my most recent visit, I discovered that they’ve added a VR tour of SunTrust Park which includes access to exclusive spaces like the locker room and dugout. I was also excited to see the new pitching game. I’m still undefeated on the batting game and my first time on the pitcher’s mound wasn’t too shabby. It was a nice surprise to see an autograph signing with former UGA quarterback, David Greene taking place too. You never know who you’ll meet or see there. Another neat feature is the interactive addition of the new Confidence Wall. While The onUp Experience is a ton of fun, I love that you’re able to learn great financial tips every time you go in. They’ve also included really cool comic books for children since it’s never too early to instill financial confidence.

4. Braves Baseball!!!
Anyone that knows me can vouch for my passion for sports. I love the feeling of fandom in the air when everyone does the tomahawk chop. And there’s something special about a whole city rooting for a team. One of my budget friendly tips for checking out games are looking on reputable discount sites for tickets. And a quick pro tip, if you make a “Confidence Starts Here” sign at The onUp Experience, you have a great chance of making it on the jumbotron or tv.

5. Fireworks, Concerts and Events Galore!
After the game we were treated to an epic fireworks show. The temperature was perfect and I still had my adult slushy to sip on. But even when baseball isn’t in season there are great events that happen at SunTrust Park. From concerts and festivals to yoga and cornhole tournaments, you’ll want to keep up with the events calendar. Especially with the holidays coming up!

I hope my list has inspired you to gather some friends and family to head down to SunTrust Park. There’s a lot of fun to be had and you’ll be just in time for the great seasonal events. My last budget friendly tip for going is to make good use of ride-sharing options. It’s a good way to skip paying for parking, and if you’re going in a group everyone can split the fare. If you’re going solo, you can always do a pool/line option too.
I look forward to hearing about your fun times at SunTrust Park and don’t forget to stop by The onUp Experience for financial tips and more fun.
