So to start, a mob movie with Robert De Niro and Michelle Pfeiffer, you HAVE to give it a shot… no pun intended, lol. The Family is a film based on the novel “Malavita, it’s written and directed by Luc Besson and produced by Martin Scorsese. De Niro plays a mob boss who has caused problems within the mob family after some snitching, as a result his family is taken into the witness protection program and relocated.

Relocation proves hard on “The Family” because they’re still used to handling things with the mob mentality, this wreaks havoc on CIA agent Stansfield, played by Tommy Lee Jones, who is just trying to keep them alive. As the story progresses you grow to love this rambunctious and unconventional family because you realize that despite their “violent” streaks they’re dealing with the same issues any other family deals with. From the kids Warren Blake (John D’Leo) and Belle Blake (Dianna Agron) blending in school to a mother just wanting to keep her family together the Blake family surely will keep you entertained.

I thoroughly enjoyed “The Family”, it would make for a good date movie or just something to see with some friends.
